Lead:

Jesus heads for Jerusalem; Moses finishes sermon #2.

Intro:

Remember that the book of Deuteronomy is basically three sermons and a couple poems, and we’re part of the way through the second sermon. And you know me, I hate stopping our reading in the middle of something, so today we’re going to finish that speech. And honestly, this’ll push our time a little bit on the backend of today’s show.

In Luke 9 we see a turning point from Luke illuminating Jesus’ authority to what it takes to be a disciple. We also see a critical turn in the narrative geographically…Jesus sets out for Jerusalem and the Passover which, as we know, leads up to the most dramatic event in the history of the cosmos.
