Focus Question:

dgff

Intro:

I have this little book called F in Exams, and the whole thing is funny — actual — answers given on tests in school. Like the one that asks “What is one famous Greek landmark?” The answer: “The most famous Greek landmark is the Apocalypse.”

I LOVE that stuff. But then I watch the news and think, “Uh, don’t a lot of adults have answers that make about as much sense?”

Remember that the books of Corinthians were letters Paul wrote to this little upstart church in the middle of Sin City (really!) and clearly some of the stuff they’ve done and said makes you want cross your eyes. Yesterday we heard his appeal about not joining their spiritually-renewed selves to spiritually untransformed people, and honestly, the first verse today should have gone with that argument. Then the rest of what you’ll hear is his conclusion of the section of his letter that we’ve been in, defending his ministry and motives, and like a parent, it’s really an appeal out of love for wanting what’s best for them.

New Testament segment:

Passage: 2 Corinthians 7
Translation: CSB (Christian Standard Bible)
Verses: 16

As we turn to Jeremiah we get to today’s focus question…What precedes marital infidelity? We’ll talk about that more after we read.

Passage: Jeremiah 5
Translation: CSB (Christian Standard Bible)
Verses: 31
Words: ~919

Wisdom segment:

Passage: Psalm 73
Translation: CSB (Christian Standard Bible)
Verses: 28
Words: ~459

The bottom line:

(you’ll just have to listen to this part)

Love you!
