*** SHOW NOTES (not a transcript) ***

Lead:

This is what leadership and management look like.

Intro:

Yesterday we began a section that we’ll finish today — King David making provision and plans for the temple that would later be constructed by his son Solomon.

Today’s reading is long, and it’s a lot of instructions that might seem to be irrelevant since they applied to something we know as history (building a temple). But if we ask, as usual, how do we see Jesus in this, and why might God have ordained to relate us this story, where do those lead to? Pay particular attention to the transition fo King Solomon and what David prays.

One other thing — because the makers of the reading plan we use (The Bible Project) sometimes suggest skimming tedious detail, I’ll be doing that today too. And as always, looking for interesting nuggets to illuminate along the way.
