Lead:

Listen for how John defines love.

Intro:

If 1 John was written to a church dealing with false teachers, 2 John is to a lady and her kids. It won’t take long to get through because it’s super-short, but the one thing I want you to listen for is how John defines love. This is important, because it’s something that many people, even in the church, miss or leave out when they say “God is love” or even that agape love, that self-sacrificial love is what best mimics how God loves us.
